Ceiling Noise Control

Separate and isolate ceiling systems from the structure to prevent airborne and structure-borne noise from transfering into and out of the space through the use of architectural acoustic materials. PAC-International by ARCACOUSTICS offers excellent solutions for achieving noise reduction of ceiling spaces through the use of their acoustic isolation clips to decouple the structure. Pyrotek solves common noise and vibration problems through the use of their eco-friendly sound absorber, Reapor, and their Wavebar line of flexible noise barriers.

  • Low cost and high performance clip fastens to wood framed, steel framed, CMU, or concrete ceiling systems. The acoustical design load of each isolator is 36 lbs. This clip fastens directly to the framing or structure creating a 1 – ⅝” cavity between the framing and the back of the gypsum board.

  • Designed to be used with concrete ceilings where noise control is required. Easy installation involves by drilling a hole in the concrete, inserting the mini drop in anchor, setting with the setting tool and threading in the RSIC-1 ADM. Height can be adjusted by spinning the isolator for a level ceiling.

  • Designed to be used with concrete, steel or wood framed ceilings. This line of clips are labour savings as they can be installed very easily. Acoustical design load rating of 36lbs per isolator. Minimum cavity of 1-⅝” with this line of clips.

  • Designed to be used with an open web steel truss application where noise reduction is required. Installation involves hammering on the clip and spin the isolator to adjust up and down for a level ceiling. Secure the side mount with two strands of 18 Ga wire. Minimum cavity of 1-¾”, maximum of up to 12″.

  • Designed to be used with wood walls and ceilings where noise control is required. It can be installed directly to the stud or joist, over directly mounted gypsum board, or over an RC-1 system. Minimum cavity of 1-⅝”, maximum of up to 3-⅝”.

  • Designed to be used with any wood or steel framed ceiling system. It decouples and isolates the gypsum board or plywood from the structure where maximum ceiling height is desired. The acoustical design load of each isolator is 18 lbs. This clip fastens directly to the framing or structure creating a 1″ cavity between the framing and the back of the gypsum board.

  • RSIC-1 Retro is designed for use with any wood, steel or concrete application where noise control is required including wood and steel framed, CMU or concrete wall or ceiling systems. The acoustical design load of each isolator is 36 lbs. This clip fastens directly to the framing or structure creating a 1-⅝” cavity.

  • To be used with any joint or concrete application where a dropped drywall ceiling is required. This clip decouples the gypsum board from the floor structure above. Acoustical design load of 36 lbs per isolator. Minimum cavity of 3-½” allows for a chase to hide mechanical ducting and plumbing lines.

  • This line of clips are very versitile and available in a variety of acoustic design loads from 36lbs to 144lbs. Minimum cavity of ½” to 4-½” depending on load capacity requirements. Applications include: dropped ceilings, isolation of garage door motors, garage door rails, speakers, vent fans, recessed lighting, projector mounts, electrical boxes, ceiling fans and even for the decoupling of walls built within other walls.
